Biography |
Susanne Strandänger
The Swedish artist Susanne Strandänger, Stockholm wants to give her artistic work an extra social dimension by cooperating with different humanitarian and fundraising organisations.
In 2003 she was selected Artist of the Year by the Swedish Heart and Lung Foundation and in 2005 she was selected Artist of the Year by the Nordic Gardens Fair, the largest garden fair in Scandinavia, where she cooperated with SOS Children’s Villages.
Susanne has studied art as a scholar at Agnes Scott College, Atlanta Georgia and art history at the University of Stockholm.
Besides separate and group exhibitions, she creates art and provides workshops for companies, organisations and individuals in Sweden and abroad. She believes in art as a powerful tool to communicate, combat stress, liberate the creative potential within the individual and create a climate for open minds and new ideas.
-I feel privileged to work as an artist in a time where so many people search for a deeper meaning in a hectic fast changing society. I want to make people aware of their unique gifts but also of their free choices and potential to engage with joy in meaningful activities, says Susanne.
Specialized in copyright, market and industrial property law, Susanne ran her own law firm, Art Design Law, in Stockholm during 12 years before she decided to focus on an artistic career.
-Now I feel happy to combine the law oriented analytical attitude with the freer process oriented artist approach when I work. As a result I have become more creative and I have reached a state of unity and balance in life, concludes Susanne.
